Nice idea for an episode. Um…if you're into new ideas (and this was a good one), how about some comparison shows? You didn't like MRE's in Arizona, how about other military foods/preserved foods? Hardtack, salt cod, C Rations/K Rations (if you can still find 'em), and so on? How about comparing the old foods of different cultures? I'm in a newsgroup that finds documentation on this stuff and tries to make it; some fits modern palates, some….uh…doesn't. The German stuff from 1500 is different than the Andalusian stuff, and the old Roman stuff from 400 a.d. is different from both. We got English, French, too. Italian medieval. If you contact the SCA, you can probably find someone who is hosting a re-enactment feast, somewhere, or is willing to. Also, how about Civil War re-enactors? Some of them do period foods. I'm curious what you'll think of eel pie or Jannaniyya or beavertail in pea soup or quince pasties or medieval gingerbread or bryndons, hypocras (a type of spiced wine), elderflower cheesecake, tart de ffruyte (fruit and salmon), chyches (roasted seasoned chickpeas), Venison Y-bake A-nother manere (venison, eggs, honey, spices in a pie), and so on. HUGE variety. I'm no expert, but we have plenty of them (we're top-heavy with folks with PhD's, but they're not the only knowledgeable ones). I can give you some e-mail addresses.

Don't even have to leave the country for some of this, unless you're going to try, say, Finland's military rations (which might be interesting, or any other country).

Andrew, when you went inside the bunnyand pull out his heart, and it was beating in your hands…and you ate it.
Even your camera man had to turn off the camera as he couldn't take it. You went too far. You ate a heart of a small creature that was still beating….anything for ratings? I know you tried to justify it as…delicious….we all have to pay for the things and I would be somewhat concerned about this action. Can't watch you anymore.

Hey Andrew,My name is Jennie im 24 years old live 3 miles away from West Virginia and 3 miles away from the mountains of Pennsylvania I live in the Great Western Maryland Mountains in Allegany County.Yes thats right, that little peice of land thats in the middle of those two states that no one knows about.lol the Potomac River along with many streams and creeks Spilt us apart from West Virginia and Pennsylvania. You should come visit us up here.We are forgotten about here in the mountains of maryland our Amish country is great, and has some great foods that you would love to try. Have our own swing on things, how we make great food and weird food from the amish and there country stores to the local fast food joints. We hunt many animals fish our rivers and streams and eat everything we hunt for. We have to fill the freezers up for the winter we are 65 miles up the mountains from Hagerstown Maryland which is not known by many people, even people from Baltimore Maryland have not heard of it either. The closest major citys that we are close to is Hagerstown Maryland or Morgantown West Virginia both are farther up or down the mountains.Due to our elevation we dont get alot of major stores due to the cost of delivery prices of the products. So most Grow there own or buy off locals. We also enjoy the mountains of west virgina and pennsylvania there great fresh foods at the same time, but very proud of our own.We have a town named Flinstone Maryland its a great place with great people most of our veggies and fruits come from there, please do a little research we would be glad to have you come here and see our historic towns along with the "Queen City" Cumberland Maryland that has the historic western maryland railroad with original train still up and running.George Washington hut house. under ground tunnels all over the city from the underground rail road including great excess to some tunnels and of course GREAT and WEIRD FOOD.lol. I could go on and on. I love the show and hope we see you soon up here.Be glad to show you a great time in a forgotten place only 3 hours away from our nations capitol. We been waiting on ya!

Andrew, I watch as many of your shows as I can, whether it's on the Travel Channel or On Demand. I would love if in the future you returned to Spain and checked out the food in Galicia, Asturias, Santander, and the Basque Country. You probably already have, but if you created an episode on this part of Spain it would be wonderful! La Coruna in Galicia is the best!!! Check out Las Isalas Cies, too!

  8. TANVIR AHMED says:

I LOVE YOUR SHOWS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART…. I know you did plenty of episodes in Asia, but if you please find it in your time to explore an episode in BANGLADESH, that will be the biggest accomplishment and such an honor for the people of Bangladesh to have you visit and enjoy the culture. And as for me, it'll be a dream come true. You are my biggest role model. I too learn from your shows to enjoy and explore different cultures with open and most welcoming arms and just get lost into the most humble moments. Please keep inspiring us with your most wonderful Journeys in the future.

!!! LOVE YOU MR. ANDREW ZIMMERN !!!

    Thank you!

    Tanvir Ahmed ^_^
