While there is no confirmed date as to when Prince’s opened, André Prince, the current matriarch of the Prince’s household believes it was around the 1940′s that her great uncle Thornton Prince established the now infamous Shack. As Adam learned in last night episode, the origins of the chicken recipe emerged from a tale of delicious revenge. Thornton Prince, alleged womanizer and owner, came home too late one evening only for his displeased girlfriend of the time to devise and cook him a very ‘special’ fried chicken breakfast. Despite an infusion of mouth napalming extra peppers Thornton failed to take issue and instead urged her to make more in the future. Today, the variety of mild, medium, hot, and extra hot remain a legacy of this fiery revenge story. Now if only revenge could always taste this finger-lickin’ good!
