Recent news posts say that the new cable car system over the River Thames connecting Greenwich with East London may not be open in time for the Summer Olympics which begin the end of July.

Since my next visit to London will be mid-July, it looks like I might miss out on being one of the first lucky cable car riders — which means back to plan A, the river cruise option, which makes Greenwich a 30 minute scenic boat ride from the Tower of London. Nothing better than to start off a tour of London than with a peek at the Crown Jewels.
