National Ice Cream Day: Tips for Satisfying Your Sweet Tooth
Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month in 1984. And lucky for us and the 90% of Americans who are ice cream lovers, today is National Ice Cream Day! We want to help you celebrate this most appetizing of summer holidays with tips on where to find the very best places for a bowl (or cone!) of the creamy stuff. Sure, you could have your own ice cream social, but there are a few events happening around the country that might spark your appetite for some chilled confections.
Sonic Drive-Ins around the country are offering half-price ice cream shakes after 8 p.m. everyday throughout the summer.
Boston-area Six Flags Amusement Parks will get a visit from the “Adults-Only” Dove Ice Cream Truck at 5:30 p.m. offering free ice cream bars to the grown-ups.
Omni Hotels throughout the country will offer a Design-Your-Own Sundae Bar on Tuesday, July 17, from 4-6 p.m., with local flavor intertwined, such as Boston cream pie push-up pops at the Omni Parker House in Boston and chipotle hot fudge at the Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas in Dallas.
