Photography by Hotel Marqués de Riscal

It’s well worth the drive into the Basque Country’s medieval village of Elciego when the purpose is a visit to the stunning Frank Gehry-designed Hotel Marques De Riscal.

Admittedly, the exterior of the Hotel Marqués de Riscal is eye-catching, but with an over-the-top exuberance for my taste. Luckily (for me) the interiors, both public areas and private rooms of this Luxury Collection hotel are cool, contemporary and comfortable — decidedly luxurious while leaning more towards minimalist than overstated.

When it comes to the exterior views, I prefer to let the picturesque rolling landscape of the region's vineyards capture my gaze while enjoying an after-dinner glass of one of the fine wines or a favorite drink in the rooftop lounge and library.

  2. great posts, thanks, i want to visit this place.
