Circuitous medieval streets, half-timbered houses, quaint storefronts, butterscotch-hued buildings, and turreted rooftops that gleam like copper pennies constitute the French wine-making village of Sancerre, set in the eastern edge of the Loire Valley.

  1. DBCoop says:

Ah, Sancerre. Vive la vallée de la Loire, surtout le pittoresque village de Sancerre et du vin de la région.

Translation: Long live the valley of the Loire and above all the picturesque village of Sancerre and the wine of the region.

Add in the history and majesty of the grand castles of the Loire such as Chinon, Blois, Angers, Amboise, Nantes, Saumur, Orléans and Tours and there are many wonderful memories of a lifetime to be made.

To go with the fine Loire Valley wines, don't forget to keep a baguette or two and a few favorite French cheeses on hand for those refreshing and relaxing afternoon picnics. You can work up quite an appetite touring all those castles.

  2. This is the historical place, and i like it.
