Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are going to have a better long weekend than you. After much anticipation, the extravagant couple will tie the knot on Saturday, May 25 in Florence, Italy, in front of more than 100 guests, including their 11-month-old daughter, North.
But this won’t be your average celebrity destination wedding in a stunning Italian villa. After all, West — who proposed on the jumbotron at the San Francisco Giants’ At&T Stadium … with a 50-piece orchestra, their friends and family watching from the dugout and Keeping Up With the Kardashians cameras rolling — wouldn’t say “I do” any other way.
In true Kimye fashion, it seems no expense was spared on the lavish affair spanning across 2 romantic, European cities. Below you’ll find their rumored 3-day itinerary:
Friday, May 23:
Four Seasons Hotel George V
As wedding guests (most notably the Kardashian-Jenner clan) begin arriving in the City of Light, they will reportedly check into the Four Seasons Hotel George V, a luxe, 5-star hotel off the Champs-Elysées in the heart of Paris’ most upscale shopping district – The Golden Triangle – and walking distance to the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and Place de la Concorde. The 8-story landmark hotel, built in 1928, boasts an exquisite 18th-century art collection throughout its 244 guest rooms and private terraces with breathtaking views of all of Paris. Also known for its spectacular flower arrangements, the hotel’s artistic director Jeff Leatham has worked with many a celebrity bride, including Eva Longoria, Chelsea Clinton, Avril Lavigne and Tina Turner.
Palace of Versailles
“At exactly 3 p.m. attendees will get a text saying what’s happening the rest of the weekend,” a source “close to the couple” tells US Weekly. Catherine Pegard, president of the Palace of Versailles confirmed that later that evening guests will be treated to a private tour of the 17th-century chateau. Once Marie Antoinette’s playground, the palace is known for Louis the XIV’s opulence, its manicured, spiraling gardens full of orange trees (one of the most expensive food items at the time) and the infamous Hall of Mirrors.
Saturday, May 24:
Forte di Belvedere
On the big day, guests will reportedly be flown 700 miles away to Florence where the nuptials will take place at sunset at Forte di Belvedere. The 16th-century fortress, which costs more than $400,000 to rent, was originally commissioned by Grand Duke Fernando I (of the powerful Medici family) in 1590. The star-shaped fortress offers sweeping panoramic views from its walls and hosts contemporary art exhibitions. Word is West tapped LA-based Italian artist (and wedding guest) Vanessa Beecroft to fill the abandoned fortress with her own installations and sculptures, which often include nudes.
Sunday, May 25:
Corsini Villa a Castello
Rumor has it that the next morning revelers will recover from the night’s festivities over brunch at Corsini Villa a Castello, a beautiful villa just 6 miles from Forte di Belvedere. While it will no doubt be a private affair on May 25, the ancient Baroque complex is otherwise open to the public. Visitors can tour Corsini Villa a Castello’s stunning property as well as its architectural gems dating back to the 6th-century BC.
As to why West wanted the wedding ceremony in Florence (besides reportedly being denied by the Palace of Versailles)? We’ll leave you with this TMI:
“I love Italy and the Italian lifestyle,” the rapper told Florence’s La Nazione newspaper. “To tell you the truth, I already came to the banks of the Arno [river] with Kim last year, just the 2 of us, incognito … I think that our daughter North was conceived here among the Renaissance masterpieces.”
