It’s less than a week until Father’s Day. Just in case you’ve put off finding that special gift or getaway, we have a few travel ideas on how you can spend some quality time with Dad.
Tee off with your father figure on a golf course this weekend or plan a golf getaway for the 17th Annual Father & Son Team Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC. The 2014 PGA Tour event icks off on Thursday, July 24, and wraps up on Saturday, July 26. Almost 1,000 players — from 46 states and 7 foreign countries — converged on 7 golf courses last year, which included Love Course at Barefoot Resort & Golf, Indian Wells Golf Club, King’s North at Myrtle Beach National, Long Bay, Parkland at Legends Resort, Crow Creek and Rivers Edge.
Teams can consist of father-son, grandfather-grandson, stepfather-stepson, father-son (in-law) or uncle-nephew. The $1,200 entry fee per team includes a golf glove, all golf-related fees for 3 tournament rounds, lunch at the course each day, tournament caps, shirts, personalized bag tags, a closing day cook-out and awards ceremony and more.
If that sounds too pricey, then whisk Dad away on a day trip to one of our recommended golf course resorts such as the Wynn Las Vegas, Marriott Orlando World Center Resort or Half Moon in Jamaica.
Is golf not your game? Take a fishing trip together in Destin, FL; let Dad loose at the paintball center at Ambush WV; pay for a relaxing treatment at a spa like the Arizona Biltmore; or shop for customized last-minute gifts that suit your Dad’s travel sense. We’ve given you a few ideas, so plan something special for him this year – no excuses.
