Cruising is by far my favorite means of travel. No matter the destination, it's the perfect vacation.

My first cruise was on the SS United States when I was just a wee lad, so over the decades there's been plenty of water under the bridge (the navigation kind) and the bow.

It's true, by the way, August is a great time to start planning a cruise; anytime is the right time to enjoy one!

I like them all; river cruises, Alaska adventures, tropical island hopping to transoceanic. They all have their unique offerings to entice the avid traveler.

From my point of view, just about any destination is worth a cruise. I say give it a try if you haven't already tasted the treasures and pleasures of life at sea. Just leave a veranda cabin available for my next cruise!
