Hollywood’s hottest power couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, finally made their almost-decade union official, as they exchanged vows in a small chapel at the Chateau Miraval. But this isn’t just any 17th-century estate in Provence, France — Hollywood’s’ royal couple owns the enchanting domain. Perhaps Jolie and Pitt knew when they bought the French estate 2 years ago that it would be the perfect location for their wedding — it sits on 1,000 sprawling acres in the ancient village of Correns and is reported to have 35 rooms, a vineyard and a moat (perfect for keeping the paparazzi out).
Chateau Miraval has been a destination for stars for decades, Time reports. In the 1970s, it was home to jazz pianist and composer Jacques Loussier, who built a recording studio on its grounds. And since then more musicians — from Pink Floyd and Sting, to Sade and the Cranberries — have used the idyllic estate to record music.
With their estate’s vineyard, the power couple can add making one of the world’s best wines to their list of accolades — their Côtes de Provence Rosé Miraval made Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list last year. At $28 a bottle, you can toast to the couple’s marriage with a rosé described as “refined and elegant,” a fitting description for the star couple as well.
Where are the glamorous newlyweds going to celebrate post-wedding? It seems that an exotic honeymoon is on hold while the power couple heads back to work. Recently, Pitt was at the Bovington Tank Museum in Dorset, UK, promoting Fury, his latest film about the final days of World War II.
