Over 2,597 dogs to be exact. Giant Schnauzers. Terriers. Bloodhounds. Chihuahuas. Chinese Cresteds. They were all let out today for the 135th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in Madison Square Garden.
The Westminster Dog Show is America’s second-longest continuously held sporting event, behind only the Kentucky Derby, and in our opinion, the number one most “aww” inspiring sporting event.
We went behind the scenes to see what it takes to get these pups pampered to perfection. And it’s no easy feat to get a Boston Terrier on a treadmill or to give a Great Pyrenees’ a precision blow-dry.

We know, you don’t want to hear about any more snow, after weeks of paralyzing wintry weather throughout the U.S. What about baby animals in the snow? Check out Snow Babies and see if you can handle the cuteness.
We couldn’t get enough of Zoo Babies and Aqua Babies, and now we have baby seals, monkeys, and polar bears playing in the snow. What could be more heart warming on a cold day?
Sure, there’s nothing more cuddly than a baby panda, but if you’d rather snuggle up with your Valentine instead plan a romantic getaway with our Top Romantic Hotels.
And if you still want to play in the snow, why not plan a ski trip or a winter getaway before the season ends?
SeaWorld will resume its “Dine With Shamu” killer-whale show at its San Antonio park on Feb 26 after a year-long hiatus following the attack and death of trainer Dawn Brancheau at SeaWorld Orlando.
Like most kids, I was beyond excited to see the Shamu show back in the ‘80s, but I was NOT the type of kid to volunteer to climb a ladder, lean my head way over the tank and patiently wait for a big tongue kiss from a 6-ton killer whale. I was impressed with the graceful orcas and the brave trainers, but like most things in life, there was an element of danger that kept me in my seat. Would I take my kids to see a Shamu show now, after what happened? Sure, but I wouldn’t let him kiss them!
Limited admission to the “Dine With Shamu” show will include a buffet meal and a training demo with one of the park’s whales. And if all goes well in San Antonio, SeaWorld will reopen the show at its Orlando and San Diego parks later in the spring.
