Looking for an easier, new way to book hotel rooms? Expedia.com will launch a new app soon for travelers to search for and book hotel rooms. The free app will be available for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
According to MSNBC.com, Expedia Hotels app is the first in a series of mobile apps that the company will launch this year for the iPhone and phones that use Google’s Android operating system. No word on when the new app will be released for you to download, but stay tuned for more details. We’ll keep you posted.

According to MSNBC, there’s a new batch of mobile apps available to help make family visits to amusement parks more efficient and fun. Most of the apps are currently geared toward Walt Disney World.
Disney will roll out its newest version of the “Disney Mobile Magic” app soon. It’s exclusively for Verizon Wireless phones. The app uses the GPS feature in Verizon phones to help users find character appearances, attractions, restaurants and other points of interest. It also has an interactive trivia game that allows users to play against other users in the same park. “Disney Mobile Magic” works in Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
These new apps also provide thrill seekers with maps and wait times for rides. A free iPhone app called “Universal Wait Times” provides accurate wait times for rides inside the 2 Universal Orlando parks. Wait time information is especially helpful for popular rides or areas, including “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” attraction at Islands of Adventure.
Before you head to the airport today and tomorrow, do yourself a favor and check with your airline carrier to see if your flight has been delayed or canceled. The US is getting its second snow punch of 2011, and the governors of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Tennessee have already declared states of emergency.
An estimated 1900 flights were cancelled in/out of Atlanta today, and more cancellations are expected in DC and New York as the snowstorm continues its path north along the Atlantic coast. By Wednesday, snow fall totals could reach as much as 9 inches in New York and a foot in New England.
