Here at Travel Channel, we’re saddened to hear that Will and Kate’s private pre-Asia-tour vacation was stalked by the paparazzi, and that a French tabloid went so far as to print topless photos of the lovely Kate Middleton … Although, a stay at Chateau D’Autet — the 640-acre renovated 19th-century hunting lodge where they were vacationing — doesn’t sound too shabby. Don’t get us wrong, we’re totally in favor of a little nude sunbathing every now and then – especially at our favorite nude beaches. But it’s hard to imagine having to lookout for paparazzi using ultra-zoom lenses to snap (and then sell) topless pics of you while on a private getaway.

The trip they are on now, however, is anything but private. On September 11, the world’s favorite royal couple embarked on a 9-day tour of Asia as part of the yearlong celebration of Queen Elizabeth II in her 60th year of reign. Their trip kicked off with a visit to the Singapore Botanical Gardens, where they visited the National Orchid Garden and admired the orchid named after them, as well as one named for the late Princess Diana. While in Singapore, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stayed at the famed Raffles Hotel, famous for their “Singapore Sling” cocktail (which, our ever-so-snarky host of The Layover has called a “disgusting drink”). On their 2-day stay, the couple toured Gardens by the Bay, the Rolls Royce Seletar campus, the Queenstown Public Housing Estate and the Kranji Commonwealth War Cemetery.
